Bantrids move on a dense sphere beneath their compact bodies rather than ordinary feet. They emerged from stasis on Hibb with no memories of their earlier civilisation, then began building a future with remarkable determination. Movement runs through both their physiology and many of their cultural values: experimentation, exploration and preparing for whatever comes next. Their enthusiasm can be optimistic or fiercely practical. Either way, the future is approaching and they would prefer to meet it rolling.
